DHAKA, Oct 17, 2024 (BSS) - A delegation on behalf of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today met families of several martyrs of the July-August student-people uprising in Narsingdi district. 
 
On behalf of Tarique Rahman, a delegation of "Amra BNP Paribar" led by its Chief Adviser and BNP Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed met the families of the martyrs.
 
They have also extended sympathy and provided financial assistance to them.
 
The delegation first went to house of Zunaid Al Habib who was killed by the men of student organization of the fascist Awami League, Chhatra League at 11am today.
 
Zunaid suffered critical wounds in the attack on September 18 and succumbed to his injuries on October 7 after fighting for life for nine days. The martyr Zunaid was local coordinator of the anti-discrimination student-people movement and Chhatra Dal activist of Morjal Union.
 
The delegation also met the family members of martyrs Rahat, Hasan and Rustom adjacent to BNP office at Morjal Union under Raipur Upazila of Narsingdi district. They also extended sympathy of Tarique Rahman to 
the families. 
 
BNP Joint General Secretary and Narsingdi District BNP Convenor Khairul Kabir Khokon, Amra BNP Paribar Adviser Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, Narsingdi district BNP Secretary General Monjur Elahi and Amra BNP Paribar Convenor Journalist Atikur Rahman Rumon, among others, were present. 
 
The delegation in the afternoon also met the family members of martyr student Tahmid Tamim, 15, at Chinishpur of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila and offered prayers at the grave of another martyr Siam who embraced martyrdom in the student-people movement at Shibpur of Narsingdi district. 
 
During the period, Moulavibazar BNP Adviser and Qatar BNP Secretary General Shariful Haque Saju, "Amra BNP Paribar" member Masud Rana Liton, Mustakim Billah, Farhad Ali Sajib, Shahadat Hossain, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal central vice-president Habibul Basher, Joint General Secretaries Hasnain Nahian Sajib and Hasanur Rahman, Chhatra Dal leader Shariful Islam, Moshiur Rahman Mohan and Misbah, Narsingdi district Juba Dal President Mohsin Hossain Bidyut, Narsingdi district Chhatra Dal President Siddiqur Rahman Nahid and former general secretary of the district Chhatra Dal Abdur Rouf Roni, among others, were present.
