DHAKA, Oct 19, 2024 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1779 cases and realized Taka 73,25,000 as fine in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.

The cases were filed and fines imposed in 24 hours covering October 17 and 18, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), shared the information in a media release here today.

During the drive, a total of 169 vehicles were impounded and 66 others towed. The DMP information further said the drive will continue to bring discipline on Dhaka's streets.
