Shramik League leader arrested over attack on student-people movement   

DHAKA, Oct 19, 2024 (BSS) – Police on Friday night arrested a Shramik League leader from the city’s Uttar Badda area as he was accused in five cases linked to the attacks at the protesters of the anti-discrimination student movement.

A team of Badda Thana Police arrested Golam Sarwar Pintu, vice-president of Badda Thana Shramik League, from Baganbari area of Swadhinata Saroni under Uttar Badda around 10:30pm on Friday, said a police press release.

According to the case details, of the five separate cases filed with Badda Police Station on July 19 and 20, September 1 and 29, August 5, September 8, Pintu was found involved in killings of Hafizul, Sumon, Sirajul Bepari, Sohag Mia and Rubel Mia, after attacking with firearms at the rallies they were taking part, in Badda areas in support of the student-people movement, the release added.
