Home Adviser lauds Ansar members for performing duties under adverse situation

RAJSHAHI, Oct 20, 2024 (BSS) - Home Adviser Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) today said that members of the Battalion and Embodied Ansars were performing duties properly under adverse situations.

Following the August 5 Anti-Discriminatory Students' Movement, the members of Ansars had played an important and laudable role to protect different embassies, airports and financial establishments. For this reason, they deserved acknowledgement and appreciation.    
 
The adviser came up with the appreciations while addressing a Darbar arranged for officers of 19-Ansar Battalion at Nawhata under Paba Upazila in the district today as the chief guest.

Appreciating the members of Battalion and Embodied Ansars for performing their duties with utmost sincerity and dedication during the difficult times, the home adviser informed them that various problems of the members were solved.

He also directed them to discharge their duties bestowed upon them with utmost sincerity and honesty in the days to come.

The Adviser said the country's law and order situation is improving gradually and there are more scopes of improving the law and order situation where Ansars have an important role to play.

Regarding the price hike of essentials, the adviser mentioned that the devastating floods in Cumilla, Feny and Noakhali of the country's South-Eastern region and current flood in Mymensingh and Sherpur are the main reasons behind the price hike of essentials especially vegetables.

He said Cumilla is the country's biggest vegetable-growing district and the flood has affected vegetable production badly there, hiking their prices.

Earlier, he visited the Naohata and Kharkhori bazaars and enquired about the prices of the commodities.

The Adviser suggested the businessmen to remain alert against market syndicate and extortion and urged them to inform the law enforcement agencies instantly if anyone trying to collect toll from them.

The Adviser also visited the regional fertilizer storehouse of Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) at Nawdapara in the city.
