DHAKA, Oct 20, 2024 (BSS) – In a joint operation conducted by Bangladesh Navy and local police, two drug peddlers were arrested with local weapons from Koira area of Khulna district last night, a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said this afternoon.

The detained drug dealers were identified as Md Omar Sadiq Sana and Md Yusuf Dhali. They are accused in several drug and rape cases with local police stations, it said.

During the drive, the joint forces team recovered one domestic weapon, three mobile phone sets, some contraband drugs and one motorcycle from their possessions.
 
They were handed over to the Koira Police Station with the seized goods for necessary legal action.  

This special drive is being carried out by the Bangladesh Navy as part of regular patrolling operation in different places under 'In Aid to Civil Power' to implement the directives of the current Interim Government, the ISPR added.
