ACC working for society’s welfare: land secretary

DHAKA, Oct 23, 2024 (BSS) – Land ministry’s senior secretary A S M Saleh Ahmed today said Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is working for the welfare of the society by taking measures against money laundering, abuse of power and illegal acquisition of wealth.

He made the remark while addressing as chief guest two separate workshops on access to land data and use of hybrid technology in land survey of EDLMS project under the Ministry of Land in the conference room of Bhumi Bhaban where ACC officials participated, said a ministry press release.

He, however, said there are also people’s fears and doubts about the ACC as some persons using its name are bringing corruption allegations by calling them personally for dishonest purpose.

If there is any complaint about someone, an official letter can be given on subject to investigation, he added.

Paying respect to the memory of the martyrs in the July-August revolution, the senior secretary said the Ministry of Land and ACC should develop modern, safe and people-friendly land management from their respective positions to fulfill public expectations.

Additional secretary, joint secretary and concerned officials of the Ministry of Land attended the workshop.

In the workshop, it was informed that building a smart and skilled land management is underway through EDLMS project that focused on land surveying and preparation of Mauza map and khatian, security provision of people's land property, reduction of land disputes, enhancement of land revenue and capacity building in government land management.
