Delhi seeks stable, positive ties with Dhaka, Verma   

DHAKA, Oct 23, 2024 (BSS – Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma has said that New Delhi would continue to seek a stable, positive and constructive relationship with Bangladesh built upon interdependencies, in which people of both countries remain the main stakeholders.

He made the remark while addressing the participants of ‘2024 NDC course’ at Bangladesh National Defence College (NDC) in Mirpur on Tuesday, a press release of Indian High Commission said here today.  

In his speech, the envoy outlined India's foreign policy and development strategy, focusing on New Delhi's increasing global engagement aimed at promoting a rules-based international order, advocating for reforms in global governance, and advancing the interests of the Global South. 

Verma also emphasized India's pursuit of inclusive, sustainable, and rapid national development.

He highlighted the long-term vision for India-Bangladesh relations under India's key foreign policy initiatives, including the "Neighbourhood First" approach, the "Act East Policy," the SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) doctrine, and India's Indo-Pacific Vision.
