KHULNA, Oct 23, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today placed former lawmaker from Khulna-6 constituency Rashiduzzaman on a three-day remand in a mayhem case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Paikgachha Anwarul Islam passed the order as police produced Rashiduzzaman before the court and pleaded to place him on a 7-day remand in the case.

Earlier on October 16, a team of law enforcement agencies arrested Rashiduzzaman from Patuakhali.

Fasiar Rahman, General Secretary of Shymnagar Ward BNP of Kapilmuni Union, filed the case with Paikgachha Police Station on August 26, 2024 against AL men including Rashiduzzaman as plaintiff.

In the case, the plaintiff alleged that AL men led by Rashiduzzaman went on rampage on BNP men at Agarghata Bazar and looted their various construction goods on October 21 in 2022.
