DHAKA, Oct 23, 2024 (BSS) – Normal consumers, along with the card holders, can now stand in queue in front of the trucks at designated points of Trading Corporation Of Bangladesh (TCB) and buy its products at fair price from tomorrow.
Customers will be able to purchase five kilograms (kg) of rice, two kg of lentils, two liters of soybeans oil for Taka 470, said a circular signed by information officer of TCB Md Humayun Kabir today.
Under the direction of the Ministry of Commerce, arrangement has been made to sell TCB products at affordable prices among one crore beneficiary card holder families of low income.
Apart from it, measures have also been taken to sell TCB products like oil, pulses and rice supplied by the Directorate General of Food at subsidized prices through 50 trucks in Dhaka city and 20 trucks in Chattogram city to ordinary customers, the circular added.
This programme will run from October 24 to November 31. However, it has been mentioned in the release that the activities may continue further if inflation does not come to a tolerable level.
Labour and Employment Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan will inaugurate the program at Dakkin Begunbari (Deepikar Mor) area of Tejgaon Industrial Area here at 10 am tomorrow.
