DHAKA, Oct 24, 2024 (BSS) – ‘Islamic Book Fair’ that began on the premises of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on October 22 has started drawing huge booklovers as different stalls are offering discounts on important Islamic books to boost their selling.
Talking to BSS, shopkeeper Rafiqul Islam said selling of books is getting momentum with the rise in number of visitors in the book fair. “I am satisfied with the sales of books as my shop has 100 Islamic books including holy Quran, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) biography, hadith, biography of great pir Hazrat Abdul Quader Jilani, education, kholafay rasheedin event,” said Rafiqul Islam.
Discounts are being offered at different rates on all books, he said, adding that selling of books go up on holidays, especially on Friday and Saturday.
Echoing the same views, shopkeeper Badrul said his shop has 75 Islamic books, including holy Quran, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) biography and hadith. “Overall sale is still satisfactory,” he said, adding that students of different madrasahs are the main buyers of the books.”
He said his shop is offering discounts based on the types of the books.
Held in the southern and eastern courtyards of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, the fair will end on November 10. Booklovers can visit the fair daily from 12 PM to 9 PM on weekdays, and from 10 AM to 10 PM on holidays.
The stalls feature translations of the Holy Quran, Tafsir, Hadith literature, and various fundamental and research-based books on Islam.
Additionally, all books at the Islamic Foundation's stall will offer a 35% discount.
