BASIS Student’s Forum launches new chapter at IU

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, KUSHTIA, Oct 25, 2024 (BSS) – Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS) Student’s Forum today launched its new chapter at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia.

A 23-member committee has been formed with Professor Dr Habibur Rahman as the mentor.
 
Sofikul Islam of Computer Science and Engineering Department under 2021-22 session made as the convenor of the newly formed committee while Fahim Hasan of the same department and session and Naima Tasnim of Information and Communication Technology Department under 2019-20 session were made as the co-convenors.
 
The other executive members are -Habibur Rahoman, Nazmus Sakib, Tonmoy Rahman, Shams Ul Arefin Nibir, A R Rafi Ayan, MH Utsho, Suraiya Akter, S. M. Sajjad Hossain Soykot, Fazle Rabbi Rounak, Abu Saleh Molla, Mahfujur Rahman Nayeem, Irham Ibn Kabir, Fahad Hasan, Tahsin Ahammod, Nishat Subah, Shorabi Jannati, Zakaria Hossain, Nahid Hasan and Rifat Hasan.
 
Talking to BSS, Convenor Sofikul Islam said that he has a plan to build a tech community that helps students develop IT skills, grow as leaders, and connect with industry professionals.

“We’ll organize workshops, competitions, and tech events...Students will also get chances to join BASIS events, training programs, and hackathons, which can lead to networking opportunities and internships,” he added.
 
He also revealed this correspondent his more plans aimed at enhancing the tech culture at the university.
