BGB seizes Indian smuggled goods, drugs from Feni, Akhaura frontiers

DHAKA, Oct 27, 2024 (BSS) – The members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian smuggled goods including illegal drugs, in separate drives at Feni-Mirsharai and Akhaura borders areas today.

 “The BGB personnel have seized 520 Indian sarees, six cows, Phensidyl and whiskey and drugs worth Tk over 37 lakh in anti-smuggling operations in the border areas of Chagalnaya and Fulgazi Upazilas of Feni and Mirsrai Upazila of Chittagong,” Feni Battalion Commander Lt. Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain said this evening.

Meanwhile, Sarail Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Farah Mohammad Imtiaz said, BGB has seized 1,223 meters of Indian high-quality blazer cloth in an anti-smuggling operation from Kuripika on the border of Akhaura Upazila in Brahmanbaria.

The estimated value of the seized goods is Taka over 36 lakh and 79 thousand.

The seized goods were submitted to concerned offices of the Local Customs and Narcotics Control Directorate.
