Jamaat Ameer seeks justice of killing on October 28, 2006

DHAKA, Oct 28, 2024 (BSS)- Jamaat-e-Islami  Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today said the mayhem took place in Dhaka on October 28, 2006 by Awami League goons on unarmed people would remember as one of the worst crime against humanity.

"On this day, the politics and society had lost its direction amidst the mayhem and brutality carried out by Awami terrorists at the directive of Sheikh Hasina," he said at a discussion at the Engineering Institute in Ramna, Dhaka.

Jamaat Ameer said on October 28, 2006, Awami tourists along with Jubo League and Chhatra League attacked Jammat's pre announced rally and beaten to death many people using 'Logi-boitha' at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram.

Organised by the party's Dhaka city south unit, the discussion was chaired by Dhaka city south unit Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul while Jamaat south city secretary Shafiqul Islam Masud conducted the discussion.

Dr Shafiqur Rahman demanded justice for every killing from October 28, 2006 to August 5, 2024 by the Awami League and its collaborators, saying, "the interim government might not complete the trial, but it must start."

Addressing the meeting BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas praised the political wisdom and honesty of Jamaat leaders.

He said, "Our previous demand was making Bangladesh free from Hasina. Now, the demand is making the country free from Awami League as its cohorts as they are still remaining at different tires of the administration including police, RAB and army."

Democracy cannot be established in real sense keeping those AL cohorts in the administration, he said, adding, they are bringing new theories every day before the nation. Even, they are propagating those theories through the mouth of our political leaders."

BNP Chairperson's Adviser Abdus Salam called for unity against Awami League saying, Awami League spared none. The then Chhatra Shibir president Shafiqul Islam Masud and Muhammad Delwar Hossain suffered their torture most," he said.

Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Secretary of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir Zahidul Islam, Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman and  Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Central Assistant Secretary Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and Maulana Abdul Halim, Dhaka South city Ameer Mohammad Salim Uddin, Khilafat Majlis Secretary General Dr. Ahmad Abdul Quader, Labour Party chairman Dr Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Gono Odhikar Parishad Secretary Rashed Khan, Hefazat-E-Islami founding Nayeb-e-Ameer Mufti Ezharul Islam and Gono Odhikar Parishad acting member secretary Farooq Hasan also addressed, the meeting, among others.
