DHAKA, Oct 29, 2024 (BSS) - Land Adviser A. F. Hassan Ariff today stressed the need for developing skilled manpower at the field level to make the land services pro-people.
"The officers and employees of the land offices at the grassroots have lack of skills and experiences. So, it is needed to build up skilled trainers centrally through trainings. The trainers will be able to groom skilled manpower at upazila and district levels," he said.
The adviser was addressing a workshop as the chief guest to finalise the draft of 'Land Services Support and Management Guidelines, 2024' at the conference room of the Bhumi Bhaban here, said a Land Ministry press release.
Ariff said the citizens in many cases have been facing harassment due to having no legal framework in submitting application online for getting land related services.
In many countries, the agency service is very much popular among the people in getting the government services, he said, adding that the government is formulating the Land Services Support and Management Guidelines, 2024 to solve the problems the citizens are now facing.
The adviser said perquisite for implementing any scheme for the welfare of the people is to formulate timely policies and coordinated plans.
Mentioning that the arable lands have been decreasing day by day, he said, "So, there is no substitute for constructing multi-storied buildings instead of one and two storied buildings."
In this regard, he highlighted the lack of proper plan and irregularities in the "Guchhagram Project" for which round 200 houses went into the river at Sariakandi in Bogura district.
"No such Guchhagram Project could be taken in the river erosion-prone areas," he said.
