DHAKA, Oct 30, 2024 (BSS) -The Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court today imposed a travel ban on Arjina Khatun, 2nd Secretary of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

Acting Judge of the court Mohammad Ibrahim Mia issued the order in response to a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and after hearing the arguments of the public prosecutor.

Assistant Director (Money Laundering) SM Mamunur Rashid filed the petition seeking the travel ban on Arjina Khatun.

Mamun in his petition alleged that Arjina Khatun is accused of embezzling illegal money through corruption and fraudulent activities. Since there is a speculation that the accused may leave the country to avoid investigation, so they sought a travel ban on her.

ACC Public Prosecutor (PP) Mir Ahmed Ali Salam was present in the court at that time.
