DHAKA, Oct 31, 2024 (BSS) - A separate facility will be set up at Dhaka University (DU) to carry out administrative works of seven colleges affiliated with the DU.
"The representatives of the seven colleges today talked to Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud and Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and they came up with a decision that there will be a designated place in the DU so that administrative works (of the seven colleges) could be conducted," Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam told a press briefing here.
He said there will be separate registrar and dedicated officials, and it will be accomplished in consultation with the DU authorities and University Grants Commission (UGC).
The regular press briefing was held at Foreign Service Academy to inform about the outcomes of the meeting of advisers' council held today.
Alam said Law Adviser Asif Nazrul will look after the financial and administrative works of the Parliament Speaker as the post is vacant now.
The meeting has also decided that all ministries will be asked to submit the lists of vehicles using in public entities to the government through a format and then the number of the government vehicles and their conditions can be known, he said.
The press secretary said the meeting of the advisers' council today congratulated the SAFF winning Bangladesh women's football team.
Citing media reports, he said, the women's footballers are not getting their salary for two months, which is a problem emerged from former president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Kazi Salahuddin's era.
"We are seeking to resolve the problem quickly and an announcement will come soon in this regard," Alam said.
He said talks continue with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the BFF about the issue of the balance of salary of the male and female players representing Bangladesh.
About 18,000 Bangladeshi workers who missed their deadline to enter Malaysia, Alam said the work of their verification has begun and hoped that they would be able to go to Malaysia soon.
During his brief visit to Dhaka on October 4 in 2024, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim assured that his government would give immediate attention to the fresh entry of 18,000 Bangladeshi workers to Malaysia in the first phase.
