RAJSHAHI, Oct 11, 2021 (BSS - The operational activities of Sonamasjid

Land Port will remain suspended for six days at a stretch on the occasion
of celebrating Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the
Hindu community, starting from today.

Harun-Or-Rashid, President of Sonamasjid Land Port C&F Agent
Association, said activities of the country's second largest land
port will resume on October 17 after the Puja celebration is over.

The decision has been taken unanimously by both business
leaders of the two countries, he added.

Assistant Customs Commissioner of the Port Mominul Islam said
import-export activities of the port will remain suspended until
Saturday. The import-export activities will resume on Sunday.

He, however, said immigration of the passport-holding passengers of
both the countries remained suspended through the port for long time
due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
