DHAKA, Nov 5, 2024 (BSS) - Family members of Shaheed Abu Sayeed today met Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Nahid Islam at his information ministry's conference room in the Secretariat here.
During the meeting, the adviser enquired about wellbeing of the family of Abu Sayeed and assured that the government will always remain beside the family, said a press release.
Abu Sayeed's family members sought support from the government to establish a foundation named "Shaheed Abu Sayeed Foundation".
Nahid, also Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Adviser, assured them of extending all-out cooperation from the government in this regard.
Abu Sayeed's elder brothers Ramjan Ali and Abu Hossain and other family members were present during the meeting.
Shaheed Abu Sayed was shot dead by police on July 16 while he was participating in the quota reform movement under the banner 'anti-discrimination student movement' in front of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur.
