Ex-home minister Asaduzzaman's pistol recovered in abandoned condition

DHAKA, Nov 6, 2024 (BSS) - Police on Tuesday night recovered a pistol of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal from the city's Monipuripara area.

Tejgaon Thana police recovered a pistol of 7.62 bore of Asaduzzaman Khan from a road between house no 132 and 139 in an abandoned condition wrapped with a shopping bag in Monipuripara area around 9:10pm yesterday (Tuesday).

They also recovered 25 rounds of bullets, two magazines, five cleaning kits and a license of the pistol from the shopping bag.

Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) told BSS today.

The recovered items including the pistol were deposited to Tejgaon Police Station.

Legal process is underway to this end.

Asaduzzaman went into hiding after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5 last in face of the student-led anti-discrimination movement.
