Prof Arefin mourns death of eminent actor Dr Enamul

 DHAKA, Oct 11, 2021 (BSS) - Dhaka University former Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of eminent actor, academician and Ekushey Padak awardee Dr Enamul Haque.

   In a condolence message, he said Dr Enamul Haque, also a retired professor of Chemistry department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), had unparallel contributions to the field of chemistry as well as country's cultural sector.

   His death created an enormous and long lasting vacuum in the field of chemistry and in the field of theatre as well as country's cultural sector which will never be filled up, he said.

   Prof Arefin, also chairman of the board of directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

   He was a noble teacher for the young generation working in country's cultural sector, Arefin said, adding "We have lost an academician, an actor, a theatre personality as well as multi-talented person."

   Dr Enamul Haque passed away today around 2:30 pm at a hospital in the city at the age of 77.

   He is survived by his wife noted actress Lucky Enam, two daughters Hridi Haq and Priti Haq.
