DHAKA, Nov 07, 2024 (BSS) – Professor Dr A T M Zafrul Azam of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry under Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, has been appointed as treasurer of National University (NU).

As per the order of the President Mohammed Shahabuddin and under section 14 (1) of the National University Act, 1992, his appointment has been made for the next four years from the date of his joining, a notification of the Ministry of Education said today.  

According to the notification, he will be entitled to get monthly remuneration.

He will enjoy other benefits attached to the post as per rules and will have to stay on the university campus full time, the notification added.

He will exercise and perform duties as prescribed by the statutes and laws of the university and conferred by the vice-chancellor.

The president, also the chancellor of the universities, can revoke this appointment at any time if necessary.

The order has been issued in public interest.
