DHAKA, Nov 10, 2024 (BSS) - Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in separate drives arrested four members of a thieves' gang from Cox's Bazar, Mymensingh and Dhaka districts and recovered 52 tolas of stolen gold and Tk 5 lakh from their possessions.
The arrested are Md Himel Miah, 20, Farzana Akhter Ety, 27, her husband Mashfiq Alam, 33, and father Abdul Jabbad, 70.
Himel, an employee of Asif Jewellers situated at Mouchak in the capital city, fled away with 59 tolas of gold from the factory of the jwellery on October 30 last, according to a press release.
Alimuddin, owner of the jwellery shop, later filed a case with Ramna police station.
Members of the detectives arrested the four criminals from Cox's Bazar, Dhaka's Rampura and Mymensingh tracking their location with technology, added the press release.
