DHAKA, Nov 10, 2024 (BSS) – Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives and Land Adviser A F Hassan Ariff today said development of skilled and trained human resources in technical education is essential for a discrimination-free workplace.
He made the remark while addressing a discussion meeting as chief guest. Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) organized the discussion marking its 54th founding anniversary and Public Engineering Day-2024 at its Kakrail Bhaban said a press release.
The adviser said most of the people, who are going to the global job market, are unskilled. However, there are opportunities for those who are skilled in technical education and training, he added.
“It is not just a matter of one’s personal gain or loss, it is a matter of development for Bangladesh at the national level,” he said.
The adviser hoped that the ministries, which look after the issues of sending human resources abroad, will take necessary steps in this regard.
With IDEB Interim Central Committee Convener Engineer Md. Kabir Hossain in the chair, Member Secretary Engineer Kazi Sakhawat Hossain delivered welcome address.
In the event, nine families of diploma engineers and engineering students, who were martyred in the anti-discrimination student movement, were given cheque of Taka one lakh and a memento by the advisor.
Besides, it has been announced to provide financial support to those who were seriously injured in the movement.
Later, the adviser inaugurated a colorful rally by releasing pigeons and balloons on the premises of the IDEB building, which paraded different streets.
