DHAKA, Nov 10, 2024 (BSS) - Police today arrested a ward councilor of Dhaka
South City Corporation (DSCC) from the city's Kadamtali Thana area as he was
accused in nine criminal cases including Masud murder during the recent anti-
discrimination student movement.
The arrested was Md Ruhul Amin, 52 no ward councilor and vice-president of
Kadamtali Thana Awami League.
A Kadamtali Thana Police arrested Ruhul from Muradpur Madrasha Road area
under the police station around 3pm today, Deputy Commissioner of the
Detective Branch (DB) of police Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed.
The case statement, filed with Kadamtali Police Station over the killing,
said that the victim took part in the anti-discrimination student movement in
Merajnagar area on July 19 last.
Masud was hit by bullets when the Awami League and its front associates fired
indiscriminate gunshots at the demonstration.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where Masud
succumbed to his injuries the next day.
