MYMENSINGH, Nov 11, 2024 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain on Sunday hoped that the nation in unison would bring the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman back to his homeland Bangladesh with due respect soon.
“Our leader Begum Khaleda Zia is in the country. But another leader fled the country. Allah does not spare anyone. If BNP comes to power in the coming days, there will be no discrimination in this country,” he said.
Zahid Hossain was addressing a discussion at Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Auditorium of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital marking the “National Revolution and Solidarity Day” on November7.
He urged everyone to remain united with the spirit of November 7 to prevent any conspiracy against democracy.
The BNP leader said that Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was the first victim of discrimination in independent Bangladesh.
But, BNP does not believe in any kind of discrimination or division and that’s why Ziaur Rahman had established Bangladeshi nationalism in the country, he said.
Sammilita Peshajibi Parishad’s Mymensingh Divisional Committee Convener Agriculturist Prof. Dr. Md. Shah Jahan chaired the discussion while its General Secretary Dr. Mohammad Ali conducted it.
Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Vice-Chancellor AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, BNP Executive Committee Member Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Liton, former MP Shah Nurul Kabir Shahin, Mymensingh City unit BNP Convener AKM Shafiqul Islam and Joint Convener Prof. Sheikh Amjad Ali spoke on the occasion, among others.
