SAO PAULO, Brazil, Nov 12, 2024, (BSS) - A two-day Global South Media and Think Tank Forum, first of its kind, kicked off on Monday in Sao Paulo, Brazil here.

Nearly 350 representatives of 170 media outlets, government agencies, enterprises and other institutions from 70 countries and regions joined the forum, including Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
BSS Managing Director and Chief Editor Mahbub Morshed represented Bangladesh in the event and addressed plenary session putting emphasis on new narratives creation and value systems to encourage multi-dimensional relationships between global south countries.
"We all know from history that each civilization and culture that emerged has its own socio-economic, ethnic and natural conditions. The greatest civilizations emerged from almost every part of the world and are identified for their distinctive culture and value systems," said Mahbub Morshed.
Now, he said, many of this planet are thinking about a new world order based on equality, diversity and a shared future aimed at the common good of humankind and its surroundings.
"The narrative of development, economic cooperation and business partnerships are important, but not all we need. Side by side, we need a paradigm shift and change in our worldview that can help us identify our culture, civilization and the idea of the nation."
In a new world, whether a nation is big or small, each culture, ethnicity and value system should be treated equally, he added.
