DHAKA, Nov 12, 2024 (BSS) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman underscored the need for strengthening spiritual unity among ulamas or Islamic scholars to work together in the days to come.
“Ulamas need spiritual unity to avoid different opinions over several little issues. If there is spiritual (Ruhani) unity, we will receive unlimited blessings from the Almighty Allah. We want unity,” he said
He came up with the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a view exchanging meeting, organized by ‘Bangladeshi Ulama Mashaikh UK’, an all-party ulama platform of Britain, held on November 11 at Maedah Grill Hall in London, a press release said today.
Shafiqur said, “Religion belongs to everyone. So we will continue to fight for ‘Deen’ of Islam together. We don’t care whether anyone gives us recognition or status. We will consider everyone as brother and friend and try to move forward, Insha Allah.”
He requested the Islamic scholars to point out the mistakes of the organization, saying: “If there are mutual doa, love and cooperation between you and us, we will be able to move forward.”
He said Britain is considered as the center of intellectual practice of the world.
"You (Islamic scholars) are staying in an environment where you are enjoying comparatively more freedom than Bangladesh. No one hinders flourishing of your talent here, as it is given in different ways in Bangladesh also,” he added.
The Islamic scholars living here should spread their knowledge to everyone as here (Britain) is more scope of practicing merits, he said.
