CRC meets eminent citizens over constitution reform

DHAKA, Nov 13, 2024 (BSS) - Constitution Reform Commission (CRC) today held another meeting with the eminent citizens of the country as part of its view-exchange with the stakeholders over reform of the constitution.


It was the third consecutive meeting being held at the cabinet room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here, an official release said today.


The CRC today held meeting with Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Matiur Rahman, Mahfuz Anam, Professor Salimullah Khan, Professor Robaet Ferdous, Dr Zahed Ur Rahman, Dilip Kumar Sarkar, Mufti Saiful Islam and Mufti Abdullah Masum.


Presided over by CRC chairman Professor Ali Riaz, its members Prof Sumaiya Khayer, Barrister Imran Siddique, Prof Muhammad Ekramul Haque, Barrister M Moin Alam Ferozi and Firoz Ahmed attended the meeting.


The commission yesterday held a meeting with another group of distinguished citizens, including Professor Tofayel Ahmed, Professor Mahbub Ullah, Baitul Mukarram Khatib Mufti Abdul Malek and Khushi Kabir.
 

Earlier on November 11, a total of 31 representatives from 16 different rights groups joined the maiden view-exchange meeting of the commission.


The CRC is scheduled to hold similar meetings with different personalities and organizations in the next few days.
