DHAKA, Nov 13, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)'s Magura
District Unit former member and former vice-president of Sreepur Upazila BNP
veteran politician Md Rustam Ali Khan died of old age complications at his
village home.
He was 85.
Rustam Ali was a resident of Tuppara village of Sreepur upazila of Magura.
He is survived by 9 sons and a daughter and grandchildren.
Rustam Ali was a true believer of the principles and ideals of former
President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam and the Bangladeshi nationalist
philosophy, said a press release.
He worked wholeheartedly to strengthen and dynamize the Sreepur Upazila BNP.
Rustam Ali's active participation in the democratic movement under the
leadership of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and
Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman was commendable.
He worked for the development of his area as a public representative.
Md. Rustam Ali Khan was the President of Sreekol Union BNP of Sreepur upazila
till his death.
Apart from politics, he was known as an all-acceptable person and social
worker to the local people.
Magura District BNP leaders Kazi Salimul Haque Kamal, Manwar Hossain Khan,
Ali Ahmed, Iqbal Aktar Khan Kafur, and other local leaders of BNP and various
political, social and cultural organizations including Sreepur Press Club
expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Rustam Ali.
Family sources said, Rustam Ali was laid to rest at his family graveyard
after a namaz-e-janaza at the Tuppara Eidgah Maidan after Asr prayers today.
