DHAKA, Nov 14, 2024(BSS) - A workshop on 'Apostille platform and strengthening the security of the personal information' was held at the auditorium of the University Grants Commission (UGC) here today.
Prof Dr SMA Faiz, chairman of the UGC, joined the workshop as the chief guest where its speakers recommended forming of a monitoring team comprising the representatives from the foreign ministry and different agencies to implement the apostille platform.
Apostille platform is a tool for authentication of certificates by online for the foreign bound students and job seekers of all universities.
UGC Member Dr Md Tanjim Uddin Khan and Additional Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Dr Md Nazrul Islam were present at the workshop as special guests.
Chaired by Director of UGC's Information Management, Communication and Training Md Omar Faruque, the workshop was attended, among others, by Director General (Consular and Welfare) of the foreign ministry Dr Shah Mohammad Tanvir Mansur.
Dr Faiz said that the apostille platform should be dealt in such a way where the time, labour, expenses and sufferings of the students could be reduced.
The apostille platform would be implemented jointly by foreign ministry, education ministry, ICT Ministry, A2I and the UGC.
Controller of Examinations of 51 private universities and ICT officers joined the workshop. Besides, Director of the Public Relations and Information Rights wing Dr Shamsul Aferin, concerned officials of the foreign ministry and A2I project were also present.
