BARISAL, Nov 14, 2024 (BSS) - Agriculture adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today urged the agricultural scientists and farmers to work sincerely for restoring the lost glory of Barisal which was earlier well-known as granary of the country.

Jahangir, also the home affairs adviser, said this while speaking at a views-exchange meeting with agriculture officials at local office of Agriculture Information Service of Barisal.

"The food inflation will drop in December as different local crops, including rice, winter vegetables, potatoes and onion, will appear in the market," the agriculture adviser said.

Divisional Commissioner of Barisal Md Rayhan Kawsar and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Delwar Hossain, among others, were present.
