DHAKA, Nov 15, 2024 (BSS) - As part of the anti-drugs drives in the capital, members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested a total of 20 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours till 6am today.
According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted the
operations against the drugs sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations of the metropolis.
They also detained a total of 20 drugs traffickers and recovered huge drugs from their possession from 6 am of November 14 to 6 am today.
During the anti-drugs raids, police seized 673 pieces of yaba contraband tablets, 530 grams of cannabis (ganja) and five grams of heroin from their possession, the release said.
Police filed 10 separate cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
