DHAKA, Nov 15, 2024 (BSS) - Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) executive committee today hosted an orientation programme for its new members in its Sagar-Runi Auditorium in the city.
 
The committee welcomed the new members including those who received permanent and temporary membership with flowers.
 
Earlier, the DRU executive committee 2024 approved temporary membership to 39 reporters this year, while 39 reporters received permanent membership letters.
 
DRU President Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo chaired the function and said the new members should follow DRU constitution and norms of journalism everywhere.
 
General secretary Mohi Uddin also delivered a speech and said that new members should uphold DRU image during their professionalism.
 
Organizing Secretary Khalid Saifullah moderated the programme, while women's affairs secretary Mahmuda Dolly and former DRU President Mursalin Nomani also spoke.
 
Among others, welfare secretary Md Tanvir Ahmed, sports secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman, office secretary Rafiq Rafi, executive committee members Delwar Hossain Mohin and Md Shariful Islam were present at the time.
