DHAKA, Nov 16, 2024 (BSS) – At least eight dengue patients died and 994 new patients were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning.

“During the period, 119 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 65 in Chattogram, 238 in Dhaka division, 236 in Dhaka North city while 148 in Dhaka South, 74 in Khulna, 61 in Rajshahi, 46 in Mymensingh, one in Sylhet and six were admitted to different hospitals in in Rangpur division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with these new deaths, the total number of dengue-related fatalities rose to 407, while the total number of cases to 78, 595.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases.
