DHAKA, Nov 16, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today paid rich tributes to Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani, popularly known as "Majlum Jananeta (the leader of the downtrodden)" on his 48th death anniversary tomorrow.

“Maulana Bhasani will remain the source of inspiration in the struggle for the rights of the deprived people for the ages,” he said.

Maulana Bhasani was a loud voice for the rights of deprived people, Fakhrul said, adding that he was a friend of the oppressed, a vocal voice of protest against imperialism and hegemony and oppressive rulers and exploitative groups.

He said, “Maulana Bhasani is an unforgettable name in our national history.”

He sought eternal peace of the departed soul of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani.
