DHAKA, Nov 17, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan today called upon all, irrespective of any party affiliation, to come forward to forge national unity to turn the country into a discrimination-free Bangladesh.
"To build the discrimination-free Bangladesh of young generation, all should come forward for national unity, irrespective of any party affiliation," he said.
The Jamaat leader made this call while addressing the workers' conference of the party's Hnila Union branch in Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar, said a press release.
Awami League has corrupted every sector of the country during their 15-year rule, making the governance a one-party based system, he said, adding that it had taken away the minimum democratic rights of the people by governing the country in a dictatorial manner.
"They (Awami League) demolished the national unity creating disparity in all spheres of society and state. The young students have freed the people of the country from such a miserable situation," he observed.
Mentioning that Jamaat-e-Islami is continuing to work for the welfare of the people of this country, Maulana Shahjahan also said their party is determined to give the people a truly discrimination-free country. "We are committed to build the country by embracing the aspirations of the people."
Cox's Bazar District Jamaat Ameer Principal Maulana Noor Ahmad Anwari, Secretary Zahidul Islam and District Working Council Member Principal Nurul Hossain Siddiqui also spoke as special guests in the conference with Union Amir Maulana Giuas Uddin in the chair.
Upazila Secretary Maulana Rafiqullah, labor leader Sarwar Kamal Sikder, Jamaat leader Muhammad Abdul Majeed, Maulana Jamal Hosain, and Mokhtar Hossain, among others, also spoke.
