DHAKA, Nov 20, 2024 (BSS) – Civil aviation and tourism adviser AF Hassan Ariff today directed Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) to maintain highest standards passenger services, cleanliness and to upgrade other services to international standards at airports.
He made the directives while visiting CAAB headquarters and the newly built third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), said a press release here.
When the adviser arrived at HSIA, he was received by Civil Aviation and Tourism secretary Nasreen Jahan and CAAB chairman Air Vice-Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan.
During the visit, the adviser participated in a discussion at the CAAB headquarters conference room, attended by CAAB members, executive directors, and directors or equivalent officials.
During the meeting, he was briefed on the activities of various departments under CAAB.
The adviser expressed satisfaction with the ongoing initiatives of CAAB and commended the introduction of waiting lounges and special lounges to enhance passenger services.
He inquired in detail about the ICAO-led audits, operations of the third terminal, ground handling, and cargo management.
Concluding his visit, the adviser inspected the key facilities of the newly built third terminal, including check-in counters, immigration desks, scanners, boarding bridges, arrival and departure areas, and the aircraft parking apron.
