3 AL men held for killing Akram during anti-discrimination movement

DHAKA, Nov 20, 2024 (BSS) - Police today arrested three activists of Awami League (AL) for their alleged involvement in killing Akram Khan Rabbi during anti-discrimination student-people movement in city's Pallabi area.

The arrestees were Shahid, 35, Md Faruque Hossain, 45, and Mohammad Jalil Bepari, 45.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Media and Public Relations Wing deputy police commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman said the three AL activists were arrested from Baunia area in Pallabi Thana.

He said Akram was shot on July 19 while he was crossing road in front of Abul Taleb School at Mirpur-10. Later, he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Akram's father Faruque Khan filed a case with Pallabi Thana on August 25.
