DHAKA, Nov 21, 2024 (BSS) - The High Court (HC) today released full text of its judgment, cancelling proceedings of six cases filed against Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus.

A HC division bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain passed the judgment last month after holding hearing on six separate pleas filed for Professor Yunus, the incumbent chief adviser of interim government. 

As the full text of the judgment was released today, petitioner's counsel Barrister Mostafizur Rahman Khan disclosed the matter to newsmen.

"Five separate cases were filed in 2019 with labour court against Grameen Communication chairman Professor Muhammad Yunus and managing director Naznin Sultana. A defamation case was also filed against Professor Muhammad Yunus in 2011. The HC has canceled proceedings of all those six cases," Barrister Khan told newsmen.
