Mahmudur Rahman for wiping out root of fascism from everywhere

DHAKA, Nov 21, 2024 (BSS)- Amar Desh Acting Editor Mahmudur Rahman today at a discussion said the root of fascism needs to be wiped out immediately which still remains in some vital positions of the state and working actively.


“The cohorts of fascism have been active in every part of the country as they are deeply rooted everywhere. If all symbols and icons of fascism are not eliminated, it will exist in various organ of the state,” he said.


Mahmudur Rahman was addressing a photo exhibition and discussion on July mass uprising, organized by Swadhinota Sarbabhaumatta Rakkha Committee at Dhaka University’s RC Majumder auditorium.

He expressed concern over the landslide victory of Awami League supporters in a recent election in Bangladesh Bank, saying, “How the cohorts of fascism who were even involved in bank looting, are still working in the bank even after three months of mass uprising”.

“Why were they in a rush to hold the election without carrying out a cleanup campaign?, Mahmudur questioned.

Mentioning that the fight against fascism and Indian hegemony is not over yet, he urged the student to get on the streets for the sake of the statehood.

“To fight against fascism and Indian hegemony we must be united and ready to shed blood if necessary.”

Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party Joint Member Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad urged the youth to know the actual history of the country and root of the nation as well.

“It is an Indian narrative that we got a national identity through nine months of war in 1971. Rather we have glorious history of hundreds of years,” he said.

During the 16th and 17th centuries, the land was one of the richest regions in the world, he said, adding, “They (Indian narratives) have separated us from our roots. We need to reestablish our connection to history and roots.”

Child specialist of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Prof Dr Md Atiur Rahman, Editor of Jaban Magazine Rezaul Karim Rony, Swadhinota Sarbabhaumatta Rakkha committee president Syed Ahmed Sarker and general secretary Minhaz Uddin also addressed the meeting.
