DHAKA, Nov 22, 2024 (BSS)- Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff today said the role of tourism is immense to promote investment and business.

In view of this, he said, necessary steps should be taken to explore new tourism destination in the country.

The adviser said this while exchanging views with journalists after visiting the stall of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation and Bangladesh Tourism Board at ongoing 'Asia International Trade Fair' at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in the city.

The adviser said the government is giving priority on discovery of new tourism destinations and attract local and foreign investment for tourism sector.

Tourism fairs play a catalytic role in taking tourism to a new height and reach to people, he said.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Nasreen Jahan and senior officials of the ministry were present.

The 17-day fair, which began on November 7 will end tomorrow.
 
A total of 284 stalls displayed a variety of products, attracting the attention of buyers in the fair. 

Along with domestic stalls, many countries including China, India, Pakistan, and Nepal are participating in the fair.

The adviser said people are enjoying spontaneously the Asia International Trade Fair, adding, such fairs would develop our tourism industry. 

Replaying to a question from journalist, the adviser said the law and order has been beefed up centering the fair so that visitors can enjoy the fair freely.
