GAZIPUR, Nov 23, 2024 (BSS) - Three students of Islamic University of
Technology in the district died after being electrocuted in Sreepur today.

The deceased were identified as Mozammel Hossain Nayem, 24, Mostakim Rahman
Mahin, 22, and Jobayer Alam sakib, 22.

Police said the students electrocuted when a BRTC bus, carrying them, came to
contact a live electric wire of Palli Bidyut at around 11 am in Udaipur Bazar
area under Sreepur.

One of the trio died on the spot while two others breathed their last at a
nearby hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sreepur Thana Joynal Abedin Mondal said around 15
to 20 students were injured in the incident as they were going to Maya
Resort, a picnic spot in Sreepur, boarded on the bus. They were sent to
different hospitals in Gazipur, the OC added.

Deputy Director of Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) Jakirul
Islam said the bodies were kept at the hospital.
