Dhaka, Nov 23, 2024 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has stood by the family members of July uprising martyred student Golam Nafiz.

A delegation of Amra BNP Paribar led by party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed visited Shaheed Nafiz's residence at Wireless Gate in the capital's Mohakhali today and enquired about the family members.

They conveyed a message of sympathy to the family on behalf of Tarique Rahman, also chief patron of Amra BNP Paribar.

Talking to journalists, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said fascist Sheikh Hasina government didn’t spare even child, teenager or youth.

Rizvi said Awami League established a one-family rule so that words of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were mentioned everywhere including textbooks denying contribution of others.

The Awami League government has done everything to cling on to power by any means, he said.

Persons like Benazir and Harun were created during the AL regime to kill people, he added.

He said sacrifices of martyrs like Nafiz will not be allowed to go in vain as a democratic Bangladesh will be built to establish justice.
Mother of Shaheed Nafiz demanded that the killers of her son be tried and a 'Shaheed Nafiz Square' be declared at the place where Golam Nafiz was killed.

Amra BNP Paribar advisor Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, member secretary Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, members Masud Rana Liton, Mustakim Billah, Farhad Ali Sojib, Shakil Ahmed, Rubel Amin and Shahadat Hossain were presen, among others.

Swechchhasebak Dal Vice-President Dr. Zahid, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Vice-President Dr Touhid Awal, Joint Secretary Hasnain Nahian Sajib and local leaders of Banani Thana BNP were also present.
