DHAKA, Nov 23, 2024 (BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today said more entrepreneurs are needed for the development of the country.
“New entrepreneurs are being created. This is very good news for the country. Most of the entrepreneurs go abroad. Public and private initiatives should be taken to retain them in the country,” he said.
The adviser said this while speaking at the closing ceremony of ‘Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024’, organised by Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Daffodil University in the city.
About one crore people participated in more than 40,000 events organized on this occasion. Global Entrepreneurship Network-Bangladesh (GEN-Bangladesh) organized more than 500 events with over 50 partner organizations in Bangladesh. And 100,000 youths participated in these events directly and 300,000 digitally.
GEN-Bangladesh MD and Daffodil University founder and trustee board chairman Dr Md Sabur Khan, International Labour Organisation specialist Gunjan Dallakati, Microsoft’s Bangladesh MD Yusuf Faruque, Bangladesh Venture Capital Ltd chief executive officer Showkat Hossain, Bangladesh Federation of Women’s Entrepreneurship president Dr Rubina Hossain and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department head Mohammad Kamruzzaman, among others, addressed the function with national host of the week and Bangladesh Skill Development Institute executive director KM Hasan Ripon in the chair.
