RAJSHAHI, Nov 24, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 13 meritorious students from 12 departments under Arts Faculty in Rajshahi University (RU) were given dean's award as recognition of their outstanding achievement in their respective academic fields.
 
The awardees are: Khairul Islam and Santa Khatun (Philosophy), Khalid Hassan (History), Saquib Ahmed (English), MazharulIslam (Bangla), Johra Akhter (Islamic History and Culture), Abu Taiyab (Arabic), Jobayer Alam (Islamic Studies), Abhinoy Sarker (Music), Fahima Khatun (Dramatics), Lima Khatun (Persian Language), Sonia Khatun (culture) and Rezaul Karim (Urdu).

Each of the award-winners, who obtained first class first in graduation (honours) in 2022, was given a crest, certificate and Taka 5,000 in recognition of their academic excellence.
 
RU authorities arranged an award-giving ceremony at its Senate Bhaban today largely attended by teachers, students and others concerned.
 
Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib addressed the ceremony as the chief guest while Pro-vice-chancellors Prof Moin Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan spoke as special guests with Arts Faculty Dean Prof Belal Hossain in the chair.
 
Congratulating the award-winners for their achievements, VC Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib hoped that they will contribute a lot towards the progress and welfare of the country and the nation as well in the days to come.
 
He also stressed the need for more research on arts, commerce and social sciences in addition to science, engineering, earth science and biology for the overall success of the nation.
