DHAKA, Nov 25, 2024 (BSS) - Senior Land Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed today said the interim government has ensured citizen-friendly land services through automation of registration, land development tax payment, holding number and other land related services.
"In the past, common people have been victims of public suffering, harassment and irregularities in the name of "Bhoomi Nagarik SeBa". But, the interim government has ensured citizen-friendly land services through introducing automation system," he said.
He said while addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration of the day-long training workshop organized for the officials concerned in land and revenue administration of Chittagong and Barisal division at Bhumi Bhaban auditorium here today.
The land secretary said that the current interim government is progressing the socio-economic development of the country successfully.
To maintain this achievement, to increase the revenue income and develop the overall economy, the ongoing activities in land service management should be advanced, he opined.
"For this reason, officials related to the land sector should be skilled, trained and have comprehensive knowledge of information technology," he said.
He also stressed the need for creating public awareness through the Tejturi Bazar Mouza piloting program of the capital's Tejgaon Revenue Circle to pay the land development tax online.
The land secretary called upon all concerned to spread the benefits of the program all over the country in the light of this experience.
Land Reforms Board Chairman Md. Abdus Sabura Mandal, Land Appeal Board Chairman Muhammad Ibrahim, were present, among others.
