NETRAKONA, Nov 27, 2024 (BSS) - Journalist Ruhul Amin Gazi was an energetic, sincere and dedicated in protecting the dignity and rights of journalist community, said speakers at a memorial meeting here today.
 
Netrakona District Journalist Welfare Association organized the meeting in the conference room of Netrakona District Press Club.
 
President of Dhaka Union of Journalists Mohammad Shahidul Islam addressed the meeting as the chief guest while its general secretary Kurshid Alam and general secretary of Mymensingh Union of Journalists Saiful Islam addressed the meeting as special guests.
 
With president of the district journalist welfare association Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhury Halim in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by joint convener of BNP Netrakona district unit SM Moniruzzaman Dudu, former vice president of Netrakona District Press club Haider Jahan Chowdhury, former general secretary of Netrakona district Press Club Shamolendu Paul and former general secretary of Netrakona District Press Club Muklesur Rahman Khan.
 
General Secretary of Netrakona district Journalist Welfare Association Delwar Khan conducted the meeting.
 
Speaking at the meeting, the chief guest said the prominent journalist Ruhul Amin Gazi was subjected to repression during the last 15-year autocratic rule of Sheikh Hasina, but the autocratic government could not stop him from writing against their autocratic and fascist rule.
