DHAKA, Dec 1, 2024 (BSS) - Members of the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) during separate raids have arrested chief of two criminal gangs along with one firearm, 12 hand grenades and two rounds of cartridge in Bhola district.
 
The arrested were identified as Md Faruk Daulat and Md Hosne Siam.
 
Acting on a tip-off, a BCG team conducted two separate raids in the South Charpata area under Sadar upazila of Bhola district and Charsamaiya union and arrested the duo in the early hours of today, said a press release.
 
Members of the elite forces also seized firearm, two rounds of cartridge, 12 hand grenades and three local weapons from their possessions.
 
The arrestees, along with the firearm and ammunition, were handed over to Bhola Sadar Model Police Station.
 
Two notorious criminal gangs groups led by Md Faruk Daulat and Md. Hosne Siam have been involved in criminal activities, including extortion, land grabbing and intimidation, in the aforesaid area for long time.
