Ariff inaugurates new software for integrated land management

DHAKA, Dec 01, 2024 (BSS) – Land Adviser A.F. Hassan Ariff today launched  new software for integrated land management to facilitate the people to complete their land-related activities online independently from their homes without facing any hassle.

“Safe housing is one of the fundamental rights. For this, a piece of undisputed land that complies with standards is needed. As a result of the launch of new software under the Automation Project of the Ministry of Land, people will be able to complete land-related activities including registration of names, land development tax payment, holding number and ledger online independently from home without facing any hassle,” he said.

“This will reduce the conflicts of middlemen, social unrest, lawsuits and litigation and will develop regularity and corruption-free land management,” he said.

The adviser made the remarks while inaugurating four software and newly developed software for the use of the people at a programme, organized by the Automation Project at the Bhumi Bhaban here.

To reach people-friendly land services at the doorsteps of the common people, the Ministry of Land is implementing the 'Land Management Automation Project' with full government funding.

Speaking as the chief guest, the land adviser said that one of the dreams of the martyrs of the July-August revolution was to ensure the fundamental rights of the people.

Senior Secretary of the land ministry ASM Saleh Ahmed presided over the function and Project Director Mohammad Iftekhar Hossain delivered welcome address.

In another programme, the land adviser inaugurated a 50-day Survey and Settlement Training programme, organized by the Department of Land Records and Survey (DLR) at Karim Jute Mills at Demra here.

 Speaking as the chief guest, Hassan Ariff said, “To build corruption-free, transparent land management, digital survey must be completed properly.”

He said there is no alternative to receiving hands-on theoretical and practical and modern-era training for the BCS cadre officers of the field administration related to the land sector.

“Land management should be made people-friendly in the light of the knowledge gained from the training,” he said.

Senior Secretary of Land Ministry ASM Saleh Ahmed, Chairman of the Land Reforms Board A. J. M. Salahuddin Nagari and DLR Director Md. Mominur Rashid, among others, spoke at the event with DLR Director General M. Moniruzzaman in the chair.
