IGP visits July-Aug uprising injured people at NITOR

DHAKA, Dec 1, 2024 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam today visited the people received injuries during Anti-Discrimination Students Movement at the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in the city.

The IGP talked to the injured and enquired about their treatment. He also talked to the on duty physicians about the progress of their treatment, said a release of the police headquarters.

Recalling the contribution of all those who participated in the July-August uprising, the IGP said the people are now breathing free air due to their heroic role.

Getting Bangladesh Police Chief beside them, many of the injured ventilated their feelings while the IGP gave a patient hearing.

He promised to investigate the cases earlier filed with these tragic incidents expeditiously.

At this time, the IGP said Bangladesh police is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people as per the expectations of the students and people.

During the visit, NITOR Director Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kenan along with concerned doctors and senior police officials were present there.
